Gemini can now tackle tasks on a schedule

If there are things you’re always asking Gemini for help with, you can now ask it to schedule those tasks for you.

Wondering why or how this would be useful? Here are a few ideas:

Schedule your first task

  1. Start a new chat with Gemini
  2. Enter a prompt with your instructions and tell Gemini when to schedule it (e.g. ‘every day at 9am, provide a summary of the day’s meetings and emails relating to them’)
  3. Gemini confirms the scheduled action, and will run it in the same chat each time

That’s it!

Editing or deleting scheduled actions

  1. Click on ‘Settings & help’ on the bottom left of the screen
  2. Click on ‘Scheduled actions’
  3. Click ‘Edit’ next to the action you’d like to update
  4. Update the name, instructions, frequency and/or time
  5. Click ‘Save’ (or ‘Delete’)

Limitations

Currently you can have up to 10 scheduled actions which can run daily, weekly or monthly. If you want Gemini to access your calendar, emails and files, you’ll need to make sure Workspace apps are enabled under ‘Settings > Apps.’ Scheduled actions are available on business Google Workspace accounts. If you’re using a personal Google account, you’ll need the AI Pro subscription.
